Setting up and managing a 401(k) is a notoriously time consuming and tedious process. Not only do you have to fill out a lot of paperwork, but you also have to make some important financial decisions along the way. So, unless you’re well versed in investing, you might not feel confident with the process or the decisions you make as you set up your account.

Making changes to your 401(k), or tapping into your funds for an emergency, is equally difficult. Typically, every change you want to make, like increasing your contributions, requires you to contact the fund’s third-party administrator or your organizations payroll department. This is inconvenient and takes time to process.

As you can see, just about everything about managing your 401(k) is a pain, which is why we set our development team to work. Our top goal was to simplify and bring additional value to the 401(k) process. The final result of our work as the creation of a revolutionary new way to set up and manage 401(k)s.

Introducing the 401(k) Dashboard

Our new 401(k) dashboard shakes up everything once thought standard in terms of creating and managing a 401(k) plan. We have been able to streamline and simplify the process while giving the account holder far more flexibility and visibility.

Here are some of the new features our clients and their employees can now take advantage of:

Easy online sign-up:  The entire sign up process can be completed online. Our system walks you through everything from beginning to end, making it simple and user friendly. Additionally, we have an “Investment Crash Course” PDF and information pop-ups to help you understand the decisions you are making.

Complete visibility: The dashboard makes it very easy to see what is going on with your money. From the summary screen you can see your balance and growth information, including year to date changes. With a couple clicks, you can look at individual funds to see how they are performing.  This gives you the information you need to make more informed investment decisions.

Self-management: With the new 401(k) dashboard you can self-manage many key aspects of your account. This includes things like how much you contribute each payday and which funds you invest in. If you’re single, you can change beneficiary information as well. If you’re married, you still have to contact us and take additional steps to make this change, as required by law.

From the dashboard you can also generate and print many useful reports, including quarterly statements. This is especially useful if you want to talk with a financial advisor before making any changes.

Enhanced 401(k) Dashboard Features

We’ve added some powerful tools to the dashboard to provide our clients with additional wealth management and financial planning tools. This gives users elevated insights and detailed information on how their investment activity will impact their future.

Here are a few of the new tools our clients can now utilize:

Retirement projection: Investing is all about preparing for retirement, so we decided to give users more insight with the Retirement Projection tool. This tool lets you change variables, like how much you contribute or what age you retire and see the impact on your future savings. This essentially lets you simulate retirement and adjust your contributions today based on your goals for tomorrow.

Loan modeling
: With the new 401(k) dashboard you can simulate loan conditions through our loan modeling tool. You simply input how much you want to borrow, based on your account balance, and select your repayment timeframe. This shows you what repayment would look like, including interest, on a week by week basis.

Manage investments: By updating your elections, you can change the types of investments your future contributions are used to purchase. From within the dashboard, you can also compare funds by their level of risk and their performance against Dow Jones and the S&P 500. You can also make day-of changes to your investments which will update when trading closes for the day.

As a company that develops financial technology, we are in a unique position to create powerful financial and wealth management tools. We’re excited to offer both our clients, and their workforce, this new feature.  If you’d like to learn more about this or other products, contact us today.
